2013 Report on our Fall Assembly/Retreat – 2013

Nearly 150 Daughters, spouses, clergy and guests attended the Fall Assembly/Retreat held at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC, from Monday, October 7 – Thursday, October 10. The Assembly Board met on Monday afternoon, and the Annual Meeting of the Province IV Assembly was held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Our Retreat theme was Evangelism, and our speaker, the Rev. Janet Echols, gave us much to think about as she told us of her experiences as she spread the Good News to the unreached peoples in India, and how to approach “A”vangelism. We also wrote on cards the names of those for whom we wanted to have prayers said for Jesus to be present in their lives, and we prayed for them around the conference room, ending in a prayer circle. It was very powerful, and we will continue to pray that Jesus to be known to all peoples, especially among women and girls.

The Interfaith Assistance Ministry in Hendersonville, which served 68,000 people last year, received our outreach of 140 lbs of food and household items (the Ministry do actually weigh the food offerings received), and we have sent $631.25 in donations. All attendees were very generous in their support.
