What will you have me do Lord?
The Mission of the Order: Prayer, Service and Evangelism The Motto of the Order For His Sake . . . I am but one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something . What I can do, I ought to do . What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do. Lord what will you have me do?
About Province IV The Episcopal Church in the united States is divided into nine geographical areas. Twenty Episcopal dioceses in the southeastern United States comprise Province IV. The Order of Daughters of the King has at least three local chapters in each of the dioceses, with diocesan officers that plan retreats and assemblies for all the chapters in that diocese and meet twice a year as the Province IV Board. Province IV Leadership is comprised of Elected officers and Appointed positions. Province IV sponsors two annual Assemblies: a week-long retreat each year in October at Kanuga, in North Carolina, and the Junior-Senior Daughters weekend retreat in mid-June at Kanuga. Its newsletter is the Messenger. Province IV officers support the diocesan leadership in practical and spiritual matters, and foster development of new chapters and redevelopment of older ones. The Province IV president also serves on the National Council of the Daughters of the King.
The Vision of the Order: As Daughters of the King, we are women of courage who have made a commitment to serve God our King. We wear crosses as an outward and visible sign that we cannot live a day without Christ in our lives. We see our Order as a community of nurturing women accepting all people, bridging differences and cherishing traditions. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision is to encourage and enable all to be reflections of God's love, reaching out through prayer, service and evangelism to spread His Kingdom. |
